Ach First #1 in CT

Some great news regarding Achievement First in CT:

 

Achievement First's Bridgeport Academy Middle and Elm City College Preparatory Elementary schools were honored by ConnCAN, a leading education advocacy organization, for having the top student achievement results in the entire state of Connecticut. AF Bridgeport Academy Middle was recognized as having the highest overall performance gains among middle schools in the state on this year's ranking, and Elm City College Prep was recognized for showing the highest African-American student performance scores among elementary schools.
 
AF Bridgeport Academy Middle improved its proficiency performance on the Connecticut Mastery Test over the previous year by 21.2 percentage points. The number two middle school in the rankings, Hop Brook Intermediate, improved its performance by 14 percentage points. ConnCAN highlighted that 68.1 percent of Elm City College Prep's African-American students were at or above proficiency goals, nearly four points higher than the next closest elementary school in the rankings, University of Hartford Magnet, which had 64.8 percent of its students meet proficiency goals.
